I wanted this blog to be our life from PA on so I though I'd better post this. I
I thought I'd better document the struggle it was for us to make this move to PA. I am not talking about the decision to move, or the prep work in tying up things in Utah and arranging things here in PA for us and the kids. Although those were hard, we felt good about the decision to move here from the time we came our for Wes's interview. We knew this was where Wes was supposed to go to school and that our children will thrive here! And we had sooo much help for our family and friends, and so many answers to our prayers that we have always felt very blessed in getting here, stressed but blessed!
It was the actual move that was the icing on the cake for me! Here is a brief run down, if you can imagine all of this with 3 children it will really help with the effect!! They were so patient and such troopers!
With the help of our families we packed up a trailer with all our "stuff" in it and watched it drive away from our home in lovely sunny 65 degree LaVerkin on December 9th 2008. Within minutes (literally) we found fantastic renters for our house! We are so grateful for the Knights and that they are happy in the home, they are really great people! Up until that point we were going on faith and wondering what we were going to do with our house. We had tried to sell it but it didn't sell in the 3 months we had from the time Wes was accepted into the CRNA program till the time we had to move. So we are glad it is being lived in and enjoyed.
From there we took our suite cases full of clothes and boots and coats to Grandma and Grandpa's "little" house in Washington to stay for about a week until Wes finished his last final. It was a nice week ... Nice and PACKED! We were finishing stuff up at the house and saying goodbye to friends and preparing for the move. Lots of cell minutes that's for sure, we have the bill to prove it!
Finally on Wednesday December 17th 2008 my parents graciously drove us to the airport in at that time, rainy Las Vegas. We had a direct flight from Vegas to Cleveland where we would then have to rent a car and drive into Erie 90 minutes or so. It was ideal and simple ...... yeah right!
Here is the brief version, the long on is just to long and full of TONS of emotion from me:
One flight cancelation due to snow in Vegas and lack of De-icing material ... 5 hours in line and 5 exhausted Ewings's ... one night in Vegas complete with 3 hours of Mario Cart ... one day driving from Vegas to SLC (thanks Mom and Dad) ... one night in an airport hotel in SLC (thanks Mom and Dad) ... One "random" security check in SLC (due to change in our itinerary) complete with air chamber, pat-down, and privacy invasion for us all! ... Finally One flight to Minneapolis MN ... One canceled flight from Newark to Buffalo! aaahhh .... A very helpful and kind booking man in MN yeah! leading to ... A changed Flight to Buffalo that night on First Class! ... A full day (11 hours) in Minneapolis with airport meal vouchers (thanks booking man) ... a shuttle ride underground leading to ... A lot of fun at the Mall of America! ... A shuttle back to the airport with tired sleeping kids ... Yet another "random" security check due to changes in our itinerary (they didn't care that it was the weather and the boys were sleeping) ... Another pat-down invasion of personal space security experience for us and the kids (this time at least our carryons' were in a locker at the terminal) ... A nervous and nauseated me! ... 3 really great and patient kids!!! ... Finally a First Class flight to Buffalo ... A rental car reservation lost in Buffalo ... One take what you can get car at 11:30pm in Buffalo crammed with all our luggage ... A freeway entrance to I90 with a wired Momma and wiped out family! ... Looking for a hotel ... One drive straight through to PA, I couldn't sleep ... One night in a Hotel in Erie ... Finally reaching our "little while house in Pennsylvania" December 20th 2008 ... 3 happy kids and 2 very relieved parents ... An army of ward members helping us move in! Thank YOU! ... B&B helping us unpack, thank you too! ...
It took us 3 and 1/2 days to finally get here, but we made it. It was like trudging through the mud but we are sooo glad! We felt watched over and blessed throughout the whole adventure! Thanks to all the help and prayers along the way!
Glad we are here!

Yeah it really was an adventure! You won't have any problems your move will be smooth and painless! (repeated 10x a day till you get to ID) Most of ours was due to weather, so moving in the summer you should be good to go!
