Sunday Sickness and Blogger Crazy!

So I have been home sick from Church with Jack today and thought I'd update the blog.  There are a bunch of posts up now but since I started this blogging thing in March and we moved her in December they are not all in order, oh well!  At least I was able to do something "productive" with my Sunday while I was home sick.

Play Dough and Pizza ... Fun Around the House!

As some of you know I really like Play Dough!  We have tons of cut outs and colors, I really enjoy playing play dough with the kids.  The problem in our PA house is that our dinning room has carpet, that makes play dough tough for me to get the play dough out.  We are going to put it down stairs in the kitchen et if I can get organized.  One of these days that will happen.
I have also posted a few pics. of our pizza making night at home.  The kids really liked making their own pizza.  After a day like that with play dough and pizza Jack fell asleep on the floor right out of the tub!  Wish I could do that zonk out when ever I want where ever I am.
We sure have a lot of fun with these kids of ours! :-)

Big Boy Hair Cuts!

This is Jack's first hair cut, ever.  We sat him on a box in the basement shower and Wes started buzzing. He hated it, really hatted it but we got through it. He looks older now.

Then it was Dylan's turn. He's done this before but can't keep his shoulders down while Dad is buzzing around his head.
They sure look good with a clean hair cuts!
Too bad we can't do this with Reagan's hair it would save a lot of time in the mornings!

Playing Dress up!

We have discovered that Jack likes to pretend and dress up a LOT!  Reagan figured out that he really likes pretending to be a dog.  He's also OK with Reagan dressing him up how ever she wants!  Including as a little sister!  Dylan of course loves his superman cape, or pretending to be George of the Jungle in his underwear!  Reagan is usually a butterfly, a teacher or gymnast when she dresses up!
We are compiling quite a box of dress ups, I love it!
Below is Jack playing "fetch" with Reagan.

More Red Noses!

Here are a few fun pictures from our January sledding adventure.  It was really a lot of fun!
Reagan seems quit numb to the cold, especially if she is having fun!  She really got to break in her new snow pants that she got for Christmas.
Dylan however spent most of the time asking "when are we leaving" and "can we go home and play the Wii now?"  He went down the hill once and HATED it.  He spent the rest of the time worried that someone was going to crash.
Jack was intrigued but having a hard time getting past his cold cheeks.  Jack had more fun when we slid down the "hill" on the side of our house a couple of days earlier.  It was a little more his speed and not as windy.
Wes was soaked in his jeans, from sledding with Reagan, he was the only one without snow pants.  Wes was wet and frozen when he finally took the boys to the car while Reagan and I went down a "few" more times, ok more like 15 more times.
It was good for me since she is quite fearless and I am a little wimpy!  I had to put on a brave face for her since Dad wasn't there.  I should stop being so chicken, it was a blast!
We brought hot chocolate that we ended up drinking it in the car since the wind was so cold and windy outside.  Come visit in the winter and you are in for a frozen treat!

Watch Out!!

This is a video I took while we were sledding in January this year.  It was really cold and windy!  The boys were done sledding pretty quick, but Reagan could have stayed out there all day, she was having a BLAST!

Christmas 2008

I started this blog in March of '09 and decided it was going to begin with our adventures in PA.  Well I am defiantly starting out of order but it will not always be like this, I promise.  So here are a few pictures from our 1st PA Christmas '08.  It was small and simple, but still a good Christmas.  Brady and Brooke live about 4 hours away in NY and had come to help us move in a few days earlier.  So we got to see them around the Holidays and that was really nice.  They are so good to us!
We had a simple Christmas full of TONS of adjusting, marking the beginning of this new adventure for us here.  But the kids made everything so much fun.  They loved the day and of course loved what they got.  We have great kids and are so grateful for them!

From one Extreme to Another .... How we got to PA

I wanted this blog to be our life from PA on so I though I'd better post this.  I know it's out of order!  I am new at this blogging thing, once I catch up things won't be out of order!
I thought I'd better document the struggle it was for us to make this move to PA.  I am not talking about the decision to move, or the prep work in tying up things in Utah and arranging things here in PA for us and the kids.  Although those were hard, we felt good about the decision to move here from the time we came our for Wes's interview.  We knew this was where Wes was supposed to go to school and that our children will thrive here!  And we had sooo much help for our family and friends, and so many answers to our prayers that we have always felt very blessed in getting here, stressed but blessed!
It was the actual move that was the icing on the cake for me!  Here is a brief run down, if you can imagine all of this with 3 children it will really help with the effect!!  They were so patient and such troopers!
With the help of our families we packed up a trailer with all our "stuff" in it and watched it drive away from our home in lovely sunny 65 degree LaVerkin on December 9th 2008.  Within minutes (literally) we found fantastic renters for our house!  We are so grateful for the Knights and that they are happy in the home, they are really great people!  Up until that point we were going on faith and wondering what we were going to do with our house.  We had tried to sell it but it didn't sell in the 3 months we had from the time Wes was accepted into the CRNA program till the time we had to move.  So we are glad it is being lived in and enjoyed.
From there we took our suite cases full of clothes and boots and coats to Grandma and Grandpa's "little" house in Washington to stay for about a week until Wes finished his last final.  It was a nice week ... Nice and PACKED!  We were finishing stuff up at the house and saying goodbye to friends and preparing for the move.  Lots of cell minutes that's for sure, we have the bill to prove it!
Finally on Wednesday December 17th 2008 my parents graciously drove us to the airport in at that time, rainy Las Vegas.  We had a direct flight from Vegas to Cleveland where we would then have to rent a car and drive into Erie 90 minutes or so.  It was ideal and simple ...... yeah right!
Here is the brief version, the long on is just to long and full of TONS of emotion from me:

One flight cancelation due to snow in Vegas and lack of De-icing material ... 5 hours in line and 5 exhausted Ewings's ... one night in Vegas complete with 3 hours of Mario Cart ... one day driving from Vegas to SLC (thanks Mom and Dad) ... one night in an airport hotel in SLC (thanks Mom and Dad) ... One "random" security check in SLC (due to change in our itinerary) complete with air chamber, pat-down, and privacy invasion for us all! ... Finally One flight to Minneapolis MN ... One canceled flight from Newark to Buffalo! aaahhh .... A very helpful and kind booking man in MN yeah! leading to ... A changed Flight to Buffalo that night on First Class! ... A full day (11 hours) in Minneapolis with airport meal vouchers (thanks booking man) ... a shuttle ride underground leading to ... A lot of fun at the Mall of America! ... A shuttle back to the airport with tired sleeping kids ... Yet another "random" security check due to changes in our itinerary (they didn't care that it was the weather and the boys were sleeping) ... Another pat-down invasion of personal space security experience for us and the kids (this time at least our carryons' were in a locker at the terminal) ... A nervous and nauseated me! ... 3 really great and patient kids!!! ... Finally a First Class flight to Buffalo ... A rental car reservation lost in Buffalo ... One take what you can get car at 11:30pm in Buffalo crammed with all our luggage ... A freeway entrance to I90 with a wired Momma and wiped out family! ... Looking for a hotel ... One drive straight through to PA, I couldn't sleep ... One night in a Hotel in Erie ... Finally reaching our "little while house in Pennsylvania" December 20th 2008 ... 3 happy kids and 2 very relieved parents ... An army of ward members helping us move in! Thank YOU! ... B&B helping us unpack, thank you too! ...
It took us 3 and 1/2 days to finally get here, but we made it.  It was like trudging through the mud but we are sooo glad!  We felt watched over and blessed throughout the whole adventure!  Thanks to all the help and prayers along the way!
Glad we are here!

Fun Cold Day at the Park!

So the same day as the drive through the country where we saw the Amish people, we stopped at this little town to let the kids get out and RUN!

We found a great park with one of those old merry go rounds that you push.  The ones all the schools in Utah banned cause it's just a little to easy to fall underneath the thing.
Wes had a lot of fun pushing us all till we thought we'd throw up!  The kids were thrilled to play at the park for the first time since we moved here.
As some of you may know when we were living in Southern Utah going to a cool park was a bi-weekly year round thing for us, or at least me and the kids.
It was a muddy chilly day, but a LOT of fun!

Welcome to PA !

So we are in Pennsylvania for Wes to get his masters in Nurse Anesthesia.  We moved here just before Christmas '08 and have been adjusting well!  We are getting used to being DANG cold!  And we are starting to worship the sun on the days we see it! hehe

We went for a drive a few weeks ago through some small towns in the area, it really was beautiful.  While we were out and about we got to see some Amish, there were some kids roller skating along the road and a few buggies driving down the road.  We snapped this picture of one of them.  It's funny they just pull out in front of you, they don't even look just pop out of no where!

Here we go!

This is my big jump into blogging! So we are finally online! We are living in PA and adjusting to the weather.  The kids have learned that snow is cold and wet, not cozy and marshmallowy.  Here we go .... more to come!
